Fundraisers at Stafford’s Katharine House Hospice are closer to their goal of buying a new minibus thanks to a generous £10,000 donation from local employer, QBE Business Insurance.
QBE Business Insurance has had an office on Mill Street, Stafford, for over 20 years and the Hospice is close to the hearts of many of it’s employees.
Mark Thomason, QBE Underwriting Manager, said,
“Several of our people have had family members affected by cancer and other illnesses that can’t be cured, so Katharine House is a local charity that is dear to us. As well as providing almost every type of business insurance, QBE is also the UK market leader in minibus insurance, so when we heard about the minibus appeal we were very happy to help.”
Thanking QBE for the donation, Katharine House Hospice Chief Executive Dr Richard Soulsby, said,
“We can’t thank QBE enough for their support to the local people of Stafford. We are absolutely delighted. The new minibus will ensure that all of our patients who need our services have access to them for many years to come and it will make such a difference to their lives.”
