When construction work in Abbey Hulton threatened to disrupt local residents’ access, good neighbours ‘The Jeffries Group’ stepped in with a parking solution benefiting residents, construction workers and the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
Ron Jeffries, Director of the Jeffries Group explains:
“We noticed there were difficulties in parking locally and wanted to help both the local residents and the construction workers to solve the problem. We worked with Eric Wright Construction and agreed that, in exchange for a donation to the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice, the team working on the new independent housing development could use our land as a car park.“
For an agreed fee, all of which has been donated to charity, the Jeffries Group has provided the land to Eric Wright Construction for the past 18 months and has seen around 50 vans per day using the spaces. This has in turn alleviated the parking issues along Newhouse Lane and has raised almost £3,000 for the local children’s hospice.
