“Freedom and Whisky gang thegither!” Burn’s Night whisky tasting at the marina
Whisky lovers and those keen to develop a taste for Scotland’s most enduring export treat this month, as Stone’s Aston Marina hosts a special Burn’s Night whisky tasting event.
Taking place on Wednesday, 25th January 2017 the evening will celebrate Scotland’s bard in traditional fashion with a three course feast with the option of Haggis fritter, neeps and tatties as a main course. During the evening, Whisky enthusiast Francis Peel from Stone’s Whitebridge Wines, will be serving drams of the 3 main whisky types – Speyside, Isley, and Highland; explaining how whisky is made and the differences between the regional whisky blends. The night will draw to a close with a rousing rendition of Auld Lang Syne.
Director at the marina, Helen Webb, says:
“Burn’s Night celebrations have always been popular at the marina, and this year we wanted to offer an added dimension to the entertainment. Whisky tasting seemed the perfect fit and by trying the three different styles of whisky alongside one another guests can learn how the subtle differences are a result of the distilling process. Tickets are already selling well so we advise people to get in touch now to avoid disappointment!”
Tickets to the event, which will start at 7pm on Wednesday 25th January are priced at £30pp, inclusive of three course meal and whisky tasting. To book, visit www.astonmarina.co.uk or call 01785 819702.
