Conservation work party – this Saturday 14th – Ferndown Local Nature Reserve


There will be a conservation work party will be held this Saturday at Stafford Borough Council’s Ferndown Local Nature Reserve,Clayton, Newcastle. This is an ideal time of year to tackle scrub growth and undertake woodland coppicing.

The event has been organised with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s “Wild about Stafford” project. The session will cater for all abilities. No experience is needed, all tools and equipment and expert tuition will be provided. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.

Ferndown LNR is one of seven Local Nature Reserves managed by the Borough Council. The LNRs ensure that open spaces are preserved to let wildlife flourish, and for people to enjoy, and are a key part of the authority’s strategy to creating a greener borough.

Please meet at the main entrance to the reserve on Ferndown Drive South at 10.25am.
