After the traditional Christmas over indulgence, it’s no surprise that our waistlines may be feeling the strain of one too many mince pies. However, even when the New Year good intentions are in mind, it’s the leftover boxes of sweets, biscuits and savoury nibbles which make it just that bit too difficult to drive out those festive-season toxins and embark on a healthy regime.
Instead of feeling guilty about over-indulgences, there are a variety of ways to revolutionise your wellbeing, without devoting yourself to a diet of raw fruit and vegetables. Instead of going to extremes, taking small but realistic steps to re-boost the system are key to the start of a healthier and more nutritionally balanced lifestyle. When you start a cleanse, it is important to ease your body in gradually! A slice of fresh lemon in a cup warm pre-boiled water is a great first step is to start each day. The antioxidants found in vitamin C do double duty in lemon water, as the natural acidity mimics digestive juices found in the stomach, tricking the liver into producing bile which keeps food moving through the body more smoothly. Eat more, Snack Less

Set yourself some rules and get back into the habit of eating three sensible meals a day. Eat protein with every meal – that means eggs or nuts with your breakfast, a salad with chicken at lunchtime, and fish or meat for supper to stay fuller, longer. If you need to snack on something, try eating a handful of pumpkin seeds each day. They are a great circulation booster and are also rich in vitamins C and E that will your blood pumping and eyes sparkling.
Brush it off
Invest in a body brush and dry brush your skin daily, using small circle motions starting from the feet upwards.
