Local independent wine retailer the Wolseley Wine Loft has had an exciting start to the year, with a move into a brand new shop just a few metres from its original unit at The Barns antique and craft complex at Wolseley Bridge.
The move is crucial to the ongoing growth of the business; enabling the shop to stock an even more diverse range of wines and continental beers. The new shop is also licenced for on-site consumption of alcohol, making it the perfect venue for intimate wine tasting events and allowing customers to enjoy a glass of wine or beer as they browse the selection.
The move sees ‘the loft’ embark on its fourth year of trading as proprietor, Brenda Rhodes, says:
“We’ve had so much fun over the past three years establishing and growing ‘the loft’ and expanding our wine knowledge along the way. We’re still very much a team of enthusiastic amateurs but we make up for it in honesty and enthusiasm and have built a loyal following of lovey regular customers. The new shop gives us the space to continue the journey and expand on our calendar of events.
“We’ve refreshed our branding to reflect the move and we have some very exciting plans in the pipeline.”
The Wine Loft is now located on the ground floor of a faithfully reconstructed 19th Century Bull Pen topped with a red wooden dovecote. It is open Thurs, Fri & Sat 12noon – 7pm & Sun 12 noon – 4.30pm, with the opportunity to hire the space for private events and wine tastings out of normal hours.
