The visit to the Rotary district of Staffordshire, Shropshire and parts of the West Midlands by the President of Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland, Eve Conway, will live long in the memory of many Rotarians.
She was inspirational throughout her two day visit on February 20 and 21 and enthusiastically embraced the busy programme of activities organised by District Governor John Sayer.
“It was a whirlwind visit which I am sure we shall remember for a long time to come,”
said John who has thanked all those clubs who contributed to the action-packed itinerary.
Whilst in the Stafford and Stone area she visited Oak Tree Farm Rural Project at Hilderstone. Several local Rotary Clubs support the Project financially and Stafford Knot Rotary Club also provides some mentoring for the organisers.
In addition Eve was told all about the Fresh Start programme which the Stafford Knot Club has established to help disengaged young people to get back into the main stream.
