Staffordshire’s Blues, Rock & Country event for everyone is back in 2017 and bigger than ever. Taking place on Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of July this year’s line-up includes local, national and international bands.
With the announcement of the acts comes the launch of a special ‘early bird’ weekend ticket offer, which sees three day weekend tickets, including optional camping, on sale for just £40 for a limited period (full ticket value £60).
In terms of the lineup, Friday’s acts include local group The Taskers who mix their love of sludgy 90’s guitar riffs with everything from acoustic folk to drum machine-driven house. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute Too Petty are also on Friday’s bill, promising classics like Free Falling, Refugee, Mary Jane’s Last Dance, I Won’t Back Down and more, whilst madcap covers band Lost The Plot will get the party going with everything from Skiffle and Folk to Pop and Rock via Punk and Rock ‘n’ Roll. Headliners Fleetwood Bac will then take the stage to replicate a full Fleetwood Mac show as they were back in the 70s & 80s. Having gained the ultimate seal of approval from Mick ‘Big Daddy’ Fleetwood these guys are as close as you’ll get to the real deal.
Saturday’s lineup is simply packed with talent. Brit award ‘Next Big Thing’ winners Jump the Shark are back following a hugely popular set at the 2016 festival, whist the UK’s newest country band, The Angels with Dirty Faces, who recently reached number 4 in the Country charts are ones to catch now. Somerset Blues/Rockers The Blue Horizon are sure to be a popular addition whilst the return of The Goat Roper Rodeo Band – hailed by critics for “breathing fresh life” into the UK country scene – is another coup for the festival. Tribute acts in the form of Black Rose (Thin Lizzy) and The Zeppelin 3 will be perform classics from the greats before award-winning troubadour Gaz Brookfield takes centre stage as part of a hectic touring schedule that has seen him play alongside The Levellers, Frank Turner, New Model Army, Nick Harper, Newton Faulkner, Seth Lakeman and others. Finally, 70s glam rock will be celebrated in all its glory as Glam 45 play renditions of the genre’s greats – including Sweet, Marc Bolan, T-Rex, David Bowie, Mott the Hoople, The Glitter Band, Roxy Music, Suzi Quattro, The Arrows, Abba, Alvin Stardust, Mud and others.
On Sunday the undoubted stars of the show will be Dan Baird & Homemade Sin. With frontman Dan Baird – an original member of The Georgia Satellites – joined by fellow ex Satellite Mauro Magellan on drums, ex Bonafide bassist Micke Björk, guitarist and founder member of Jason & The Scorchers Warner E. Hodges, these guys have serious country-rock credentials. Also entertaining the crowds on Sunday will be Birmingham piano Blues artist Jake Henry, The Runawayz, Smashed and the festival’s very own supergroup The Middle of Nowhere Jam Band.
In addition to great live music, the family-friendly festival offers access to the farm’s family fun farm attraction with its adventure playground, Maize Maze and friendly animals.
Early Bird weekend tickets, priced at just £40, are now available to buy from the festival website alongside a limited number of day tickets. For full details of the Middle of Nowhere Festival 2017 line-up head to www.monmusicfestival.co.uk
