Proposed parking restrictions may concern local residents

Staffordshire County Council are proposing parking restrictions to be put in place around several junctions and roads in Stone.

The proposals are being considered due to complaints of “inappropriate” and “dangerous” parking at these sites.

A lack of visitor parking available at Stonefield Park has also led to a plan to introduce “limited parking” in certain areas – to allow an increase of turnover of parked vehicles during the day.

It’s hoped that the new measures will improve the safety of road users and pedestrians, whilst also allowing the traffic to flow more freely, however local residents may now be forced to park elsewhere.

Stone Town Council have until the 17th March 2017 to respond to the County Council’s consultation.

If you would like to add your comments to the consultation you can contact the Councillors that are collecting feedback from local residents.
