The Stone Lions held their 38th Charter Anniversary Dinner at the Stone House Hotel on Saturday 25th February 2017.
Present to celebrate the evening with Lion President Mark Green were District Governor Steve Shields and his wife Jean the Worshipful Mayor and Mayoress of Stafford Cllr Geoff Collier and Cllr Mrs Cathy Collier, Stone Town Mayor and Mayoress Cllr Jim Davies and Mrs Lin Davies.
Also giving their support were Lions from clubs both far and near and a representative from the Stone Rotary Club.
Guests enjoyed an enjoyable meal with excellent service provided by the staff from the hotel.
During the evening there were the usual speeches by Lion President and top table guests, including one by Stone Town Mayor Councillor Jim Davies who listed the many things that the Lions do throughout the year and thanked them for all their much appreciated voluntary service carried out for the benefit of residents of Stone and surrounding districts.
District Governor Steve Shields presented 40 year service awards to Lions Tony Clayton, Mike Ward MBE and John Watt; he also presented a Silver Centennial Pin to Lions Pete and Margaret Leatt for introducing new members to Stone Lions Club.
Afterwards dancers took to the floor to the music provided by Paul Gibson.
