Barlaston Village Market Love Your Local Market Campaign

This year, in the 6th year of the national Love Your Local Market Campaign, Barlaston Village Market will be joining over 1200 markets across the country celebrating market trading; we will be celebrating with a special market on Saturday 27th May.

The market is a friendly and community focussed food and craft market with a tea room area held in Barlaston Village Hall on the last Saturday of every month from 10am to 1pm and offers an opportunity to shop but also to socialise with friends and neighbours.

“Love Your Local Market is a celebration of the UK markets industry that takes place over a fortnight in May [17-31]. It provides a national spotlight on markets across the country and is not only wholeheartedly supported by the industry but Government and a range of other partners. The campaign serves to build affection and support for markets, by enhancing their status within the local community and offers start ups an opportunity to test trade a new concept in a low cost, low risk environment.” (www.loveyourlocalmarket.co)

Graham Wilson OBE, Chief Executive of the National Association of British Market Authorities says:

“Love Your Local Market is the biggest market event in a generation. It gives people the chance of a new career and demonstrates how important the market is to the local community. With the financial backing of the government and our headline sponsor Groupe Geraud we intend to make Love Your Local Market once again the biggest and best markets campaign UK has ever seen.” (www.loveyourlocalmarket.co)
