Moddershall Oaks’ first comedy night was a huge success. Held in The Venue, an astonishing space accompanied by a trendy bar, colourful ambient lighting & a starry sky of Swarovski crystal lights, the perfect backdrop for an exclusive comedy evening. Just for one night Moddershall Oaks’ beautiful, peaceful and serene setting, gorgeous green fields and tranquil atmosphere… decided to take a walk on the wild side!
As the guests arrived, the microphone stood waiting for the first act and comedy was in the air. All guests sat down to a delicious, and might we add famous, gourmet burger with delectable triple cooked chips, and the choice of bottled beer or a glass of wine. Lively music played in the background accompanied by the 5* service of dedicated staff, and of course the anticipation of the evening ahead. As Jon Pearson, the MC for the night, made his way through the seated crowd, an excited round of applause followed.
Jon performed beyond expectations. Warm, friendly and as funny as ever, Jon quipped with the audience who were in stitches! With the crowd suitably warmed up, Jon welcomed Freddy Quinne to the stage with a round of applause, who was met with instant laughter. Freddy comically commented on the prestige of the spa, “This is proper Jo Malone isn’t it this – with your Emma Bridgewater crockery – beautiful!”
The audience waited patiently, chatting and laughing through the interval, grabbing another round of drinks for the table ready for the final headline act, Gary Delaney. Gary took to the stage and was certainly worth waiting for. Gary delivered his one liners casually, carefully and cleverly. With a nervous stance, but full of comical reassurance to himself throughout, Gary’s performance was the perfect way to end the night.
Moddershall Oaks’ first comedy night was a complete sell-out, and the next comedy night on 16th June 2017 is anticipated to be equally popular. Featuring amazing talent Jo Enright, who appeared alongside Peter Kay in Phoenix Nights and starred in ITV’s comedy ‘The Job Lot’. MC James Cook will be introducing the comedians and commentating throughout the evening, with Tom Houghton as the opening act.
Tickets for Moddershall Oaks next comedy night are £29.95 each, and payment is required on booking. Make sure to book your place as soon as possible, anticipated sell out perhaps before official release. A must have event this summer, no room for disappointment, just endless laughter!
