Monday 3rd April saw a group of the Stone Lions out for the first clean up of 2017.

Throughout the year the club has a roster running with one person per week being responsible for litter picking from the “Star” along the canal bank up to the end of the old Trent Hospital, also around the Amphitheatre and the area of the Crown Meadows.

This year did not produce as much litter as has been seen in the past and it was noted that the litter bins were full to overflowing, so many thanks to all those responsible people for disposing of their rubbish in this way.

It is always very rewarding when doing litter picking hearing all the kind comments from the people out enjoying their walk, also how visitors to the town appreciate having such a nice place to spend time.

Looking forward to seeing you out there during the coming months,  also if anyone would like to any information regarding the Lions please contact  Lion Chris Handley on 01785 812027.
