Seventy five Year 8 pupils from Christ Church Academy took part in a very successful 5 day visit to France at the beginning of May.
The weather was beautiful and the group stayed just outside Paris. They visited a local market town, joined in with outward bounds activities, and visited central Paris.
During the trip they climbed all 704 steps to the second floor of the Eiffel tower, took a boat tour down the Seine, experienced the mayhem of the Arc de Triomphe roundabout, visited Notre Dame cathedral, the Louvre museum and art gallery (where the Mona Lisa was said to have smiled for the group!) and climbed to the Sacré Cœur basilica.
They also enjoyed a crêpe cookery evening, tasted snails and visited a hypermarket.
A wonderful opportunity for pupils to use the French they have been learning in school that was enjoyed by all involved.
