A team of financial advisers in Stone have stepped up to the crease to support their local cricket team in a two-year sponsorship deal.
Little Stoke Cricket Club unveiled their new main sponsor – Stonegate Wealth Management – ahead of their First XI’s match against Caverswall on Saturday (6 May).
The club’s First XI have had a great start to the new season in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League Division 1 and are gunning for promotion to the Premier League. As well as the First XI, Little Stoke have three other senior teams who take to the field each week, as well as a thriving junior section with 10 teams from under-eights to under-17s, including the club’s latest recruits, the Little Stoke Wildcats – an under-12s girls team.
The new sponsorship deal has come as a real boost to the club – who play at The Sid Jenkins Ground in Uttoxeter Road, Stone – after they lost a long-term sponsor at the end of last season.
Alan Palmer, Vice Chairman at Little Stoke Cricket Club, said:
“This is an exciting partnership between a local community-based cricket club and a local business. Stonegate Wealth Management’s sponsorship deal will enable us to invest further in the club’s facilities through the purchase of additional new ground machinery. Although this sponsorship deal is specifically aimed at the club’s senior cricket sides, this investment will also benefit the club’s 100-plus junior cricketers as well through improved cricket facilities.
“Without Stonegate Wealth Management’s sponsorship, none of this would be possible, and we look forward to working with Steve Hendry and his team in what we hope will be a long and successful partnership for many years to come.”
Steve Hendry, Stonegate Wealth Management managing director, who lives with his family in Stone, added:
“Little Stoke is such a vibrant club, with so much commitment from all those involved. There’s a thriving social element, too, and the club is right in the heart of the community. We’re absolutely delighted to support a local team and we’ll be cheering them on this season. In fact, if the First XI make it into the Premier League, we’ve said that we’ll pay a special promotion bonus to the club!”
