News from Oulton First School

Big Sing

On Friday 30th June, the children in Classes 1 and 2 were lucky enough to have a specialist music teacher join them from the Stafford Music Hub. The children enthusiastically sang a number of songs which they were taught. Mrs Hollingshurst said she most impressed with the children’s participation and excellent behaviour – well done children!

Sensory Garden Opening

The Sensory Garden at Oulton First School was opened on Thursday 6th July by Councillor Parry. The vision to create the Sensory Garden within the school grounds was suggested by KS2 teacher, Mrs Potts, in the Summer of 2016. The creation of the Sensory Garden would not of been possible without the hard work and commitment of the Gardening Club which consisted of parents and children from both within and outside the school community. Generous funding was also awarded from numerous local businesses, parents and organisations. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has been involved with the project – what a wonderful asset to the school!

Sports Day

For the second year running our Sports’ Day and Family Picnic was held on one of the hottest days of the year, although this did not prevent a very enjoyable afternoon from being had by all! Well done to all those children that competed and a special congratulations to the Yellow team who won the overall event. Can we also thank Mr Bailey, PE teacher, and the Sports’ Leaders from Christchurch Academy who supported the event.
