On Saturday 8th July, the Abbots Bromley School community said farewell to a wonderful set of Year 13 students, and to Mrs Victoria Musgrave. Mrs Musgrave has been the Executive Head for more than four years and presented the prizes, as well as delivering an amusing and thoughtful final address.
Mrs Maggie Shackleton, the school’s new Principal, delivered her first Speech Day address. Although Mrs Shackleton has only been in post for one term, she spoke about the great range of activities and achievements she had seen in this short time. She congratulated the Vocational Dance and Musical Theatre students who await their academic A-Level results, having already achieved 21 Distinction Stars in their Performing Arts BTEC. This fantastic accomplishment is the equivalent of 3 A-Level A* grades each. All the departing Upper Sixth students were wished every success in their future university studies.
‘Abbots Bromley School is truly a creative school in this beautiful and creative county of Staffordshire. Evidence shows that creative and artistic students reach their full potential in all academic areas. This year we have been placed in the top 4% of schools nationally for value added. I look forward to leading this vibrant school through the next stage of its development, building upon the work of Mrs Musgrave.’ said Mrs Shackleton.
Abbots Bromley School welcomes visitors throughout the year and will be holding a very special Open Morning on Saturday 30th September, starting at 9.30am. Set in a tranquil village, the 50 acre site provides wonderful opportunities for students of all ages to develop their academic and creative talents.
