Stone Lions Club play host to Youth Exchange Students

Stone Town Mayor, Councillor Jim Davis, presents the visitors with Dunoon Emma Joustra mugs

As part of the extensive programme of youth activities undertaken by Lions Clubs International, a group of around 40 overseas students travel to the UK each year to spend 10 days with Host Families before taking part in an International Youth Camp for the following 10 days.

This year, Lions Dave and Chris Handley and Lion John Watt with his wife Audrey hosted 2 students, Sofie Andersen from Denmark and Livija Naujokaite from Lithuania. As always, the experience was extremely enjoyable, with the Host Families having the opportunity to learn about other cultures as well as being able to show their young guests a variety of visitor hotspots in the UK (Ironbridge, Chester, Llandudno and London and Primark to name but a few).

The visits included a visit to Stone Town Council Chambers where the students received a very informative guided tour from Town Mayor, Councillor Jim Davis and his Mayoress, Lin.
