£5,000 made available for local Community groups

Community groups are being urged to apply for funding as part of an established EnviroGrant Scheme.

Local organisations have until 27th October to apply for grants of up to £1,000 for projects based in Staffordshire.

The scheme that was launched in March has already seen grants of about £10,000 awarded to local groups and the scheme is now set to offer further funds.

Sarah Hodson – Director at Chuckle Productions, based in Stone, who were successful in the first round of grants said,

“I urge any groups in Staffordshire to apply for this grant.  The form is really easy to complete and Veolia and Staffordshire County Council want these funds to go to where they are needed the most.  Their contribution enabled us to start work on our sensory garden and to buy equipment that will help children with special needs. We are really grateful for their support and we are looking forward to making the garden a really special place”

Hilary Hampton Communications and Education Manager for Veolia said

“After the success of our EnviroGrant awards earlier this year in partnership with Staffordshire County Council, we are keen to encourage people to apply to the scheme as soon as possible.

“It was a pleasure giving awards earlier this year and to see what a difference a small amount of money can make to groups that work to make Staffordshire a better place to live”.
