Time is running out to nominate people or organisations in Stafford Borough who are doing great work for their community.
The Borough Council is running the Community Awards which celebrate the work of individuals or organisations that aim to improve where they live.
The closing date for nominations is Friday 15 September.
An awards ceremony is held for the winners in November hosted by the Mayor of the Borough, Councillor Aidan Godfrey.
There are four categories relating to ‘Inspiring Individuals,’ ‘Action in the Community,’ ‘Youth and Education,’ and ‘Business.’
Examples of good work include people setting up litter picks in their area, schools who have helped improve wildlife, or businesses who have introduced sustainable initiatives that have reduced their carbon footprint.
Councillor Frank Finlay, Cabinet Member for Environment and Health, said:
“This is a great way to say thank you to those who go that extra mile to make Stafford Borough a better place to live, work and visit.
“Many of those who do fantastic work for our community are volunteers and often go unnoticed so these awards give us the opportunity to pay tribute to them and demonstrate that we value all that they do.”
