PARISH MISSION: INTO THE LIGHT
SUNDAY 27TH JANUARY – SUNDAY 11TH FEBRUARY
OUR LADY & ST WERBURGH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH – 01782 61023
Hundreds of people are to come together to take part in a Christian ‘Mission’ at the beginning of the new year.
The Sion Catholic Community for Evangelisation is to lead two weeks of events at Our Lady & St Werburgh’s Catholic Church in Clayton, and Our Lady & St John the Baptist in Ashley. Fr Anton Madej, Parish Priest at Clayton and Ashley, said everyone was invited to take part in what is sure to be an “interesting and challenging” programme of events.
The theme of our mission is ‘Into the Light’. It ties in with the post-Christmas Christian message, that as winter turns towards spring and the days are getting longer and brighter, Christ invites us into the light of his love for each and every one of us. This is the Christian message of hope for 2018 and beyond.
A Mission is a time when a Christian community comes together to grow more deeply in the joy of their faith and to open itself out in invitation to others.
This particular Mission will begin at Our Lady & St Werburgh’s Catholic primary school on Monday 29th January before it moves into the churches at Clayton and Ashley for one week beginning on Monday 5th February.
Bishop David McGough, Auxilliary Bishop for the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham, will also be in attendance at a number of events. Full details are on the Clayton parish website. www.ourladyandstwerburgh.co.uk/parish-mission
