The staff children and governors of St. Michael’s CE (VC) First School in Stone are celebrating their recent OfSTED report where the school was judged to be GOOD in all areas.
The report highlighted that senior leaders are highly ambitious for all children at the school and are well supported by a group of hard-working teachers and support staff. They recognised how pupils make good progress across the school with behaviour around the school being exemplary. It also celebrated the exciting learning opportunities that children have access to on a day to day basis and through focussed theme weeks within the school including a circus week and Meerkat Mail.
The school has recently extended its nursery provision and is now able to accept children from the day after their third birthday. In the report the nursery provision was celebrated recognising that children ‘enjoy coming to nursery, settle quickly and are well supported.’
The report identified the school as
“ a caring and positive community, in which all pupils are valued. Pupils attitudes to each other routinely reflect the values of trust, respect and thankfulness, which permeate the daily life of the school.”
Headteacher Mrs Julia Wass said
‘ We are very proud of this report and all of the children within our school. We feel that the report accurately portrays our school and our desire for all children to achieve their very best both academically and socially.’
