Consultation Event for proposed redevelopment of the St. Dominic’s site

Dear all in our local community

I would like to bring your attention to some exciting proposed developments at our school, which are necessary due to the implications of the proposed redevelopment of the St. Dominic’s Convent site for our school.

School are progressing plans to build new replacement teaching accommodation at the rear of the school site, on the existing staff car park by the canal. Three planning applications have been submitted for: an extension to our existing visitors’ car park; temporary classrooms on the extended car park (for use during construction of our permanent replacement classrooms); and the use of no. 37 Station Road for school administration activities. A planning application for our new replacement teaching accommodation at the rear of the school. Please see an artist’s impression below (Which may differ) – will be submitted shortly.

The proposals will have a hugely beneficial impact on the school and we are confident that they will have a positive impact on the character and appearance of the surrounding area and cause no material harm to neighbours’ amenity. Furthermore, the proposals will not result in increased pupil or staff numbers or therefore any increase in traffic and demand for car parking, whilst there will be no reduction in off-street parking available within the school.

If you would like to see our plans for yourself, then please come along to our consultation event that is take place at the school between 5.00pm and 7.00pm on Friday 9th February (at Priory Hall, adjacent to the visitor’s car park off Station Road).

I and other representatives of the school will be present, along with members of our design team, in order that we can explain the proposals to you and answer any queries you may have.

I do hope you will take this opportunity to visit our school to find out more about our exciting proposals and look forward to speaking with you then. Failing that if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me on the school office number 01785 814181.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Rebecca Harrison
