Longton were at home to Scunthorpe, but couldn’t earn any points for a hard afternoon of rugby with a 12 – 23 loss. There were no league games for Lichfield this week.
Midlands 1 West.
Burton continued to chase down the top of table spot with a 20 – 39 away win against Sutton Coldfield. Stoke showed their class beating the league leaders Dudley Kingswinford 24 – 20. Wolverhampton hosted Bromsgrove but their bad form continued with a 7 – 64 loss keeping them rooted to the foot of the table.
Midlands 2 West (North).
Leek found their way back to winning ways with a 27 – 20 victory at home against Old Saltleians. Walsall travelled to Whitchurch but it was a barren afternoon as they slid to a 64 – 0 loss. There were no league games for Newcastle or Tamworth this week.
Midlands 3 West (North).
Willenhall travelled to Harborne, coming home empty handed after a 27 – 12 loss. Burntwood stretched their lead at the top of the league with a home walkover win after Trentham bowed out of the encounter. Handsworth were at home to Shrewsbury but the visitors took all of the points as the home side lost 12 – 48. The game between Cannock and Stafford was postponed for the third time due to the weather. There were no league games for Barton or Uttoxeter this week.
Midlands 4 West (North).
Wednesbury kept up the pressure on the league leaders with a home walkover win after Bloxwich bowed out of the encounter. Top of the table Eccleshall were away at Essington and kept up their winning streak with a 17 – 22 victory. There were no league games for Rugeley this week.
Midlands 5 West (North).
There were no league games for Gnosall, Linley or St Leonards this week.
