Aston-by-Stone W.I. celebrated 93 years on April 20th. To mark the event, members visited Bridgemere Garden Centre where they had lunch and a flower-arranging demonstration.
All agreed that it was a most enjoyable day. Ten days previously, at the April meeting, President Chris Payne cut the birthday cake. Eating cake is a well-known aspect of the W.I., and this delicious fruit cake had been made by member Anita Murphy.
All members received a piece, and again it was much enjoyed.
We look forward now to our 94th birthday next year, and to many more celebrations, especially in 2025, which will mark our 100th anniversary!
