Cub’s community clean up

A huge haul of rubbish – well done to you all for your community spirit.

The Aston & Little Stoke Cubs carried out some community activity with a huge litter pick at Canal Wharf Car park on Monday 23rd April.

For their World Service Challenge badge they commit to a community project over a length of time. They collected the same spot in September last year, and had a similar haul of filth.

They planned to collect earlier in the year, before all the nettles in the area make the litter pick almost impossible. A huge haul of empty spirit bottles were found along with around 40 beer bottles, and sadly a few heroin wraps were disposed of. The remainder of the litter was as you would expect – crisp packets, many yoghurt pots and yoghurt drinks!

Bottle tops, water bottles and carrier bags. The cubs were delighted with their efforts to make the car park clean, but they were also horrified how much litter there was to be found.
