The Red Arrows to fly special Royal Mint £2 coin at RAF Cosford Air Show to celebrate the centenary of the RAF

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, will have a very special passenger on board when they thrill the public at the RAF Cosford Air Show in Shropshire this weekend, Sunday 10 June.

The instantly recognisable red liveried Hawk aircraft, which rank amongst the world’s premier aerobatic display teams, will be carrying one of The Royal Mint’s RAF Centenary £2 commemorative coins on board at what is one of the country’s top aviation events. The coin has been designed and struck in honour of the organisation they serve, and features a design based on the RAF badge.

Nicola Howell, Director of The Royal Mint’s Consumer division, said:

“We are thrilled that the Red Arrows will be carrying our special commemorative coin marking 100 years of the RAF. We see this as a great opportunity to highlight the remarkable work that the RAF has done and honour what it has achieved in the 100 years since its inception.”

The commemorative coins is available in a range of finishes and available to purchase at the RAF Cosford Air Show itself, and from The Royal Mint website –

The Royal Mint and RAF partnership was brokered by IMG, the RAF’s global licensing representative, as part of the RAF100 centenary celebrations.
