The theme for this year’s Stafford There is No Planet B Green Arts Festival is ‘PLASTIC’.
The team is now taking bookings for a series of awareness raising poetry and performance workshops taking place during August. Workshops are aimed at children and adults and will be categorised into the following age groups: 8-12, 13-17 and 18+.
The workshops will be led by Mel Woodend and Nicky Barron, who are both qualified experts in their respective creative fields – poetry and drama. At the workshops, attendees will each create and learn to perform, their own poem, prose, or script, about the environmental theme of ‘PLASTIC’
The creative, environment themed workshops, will be held at Church Lane Evangelical Church on the 8th, 15th and 22nd August. Previous workshops have been extremely popular and attendees said that they had a really enjoyable time. Focus will be on learning and creativity around the environmental issues, as well as developing confidence, social and creative skills.
Attendance at the three workshops will cost in total £15. Funds raised through the workshops will be donated to Sustainability Matters, who sponsor There is No Planet B team activities. These activities include creative workshops and Stafford Green Arts Festival that takes place during February half term.
The TINPB team are very grateful to Church Lane Evangelical Church in the town centre, for allowing the use of their hall for the workshops.
