The Stone High Street Co-op, which closed eight months ago, is to reopen as a B&M Store.
B&M’s opening will come as a great boost to Stone’s economy, creating new jobs for local people, and bringing many visitors back into the Town centre.
B&M have agreed a contract, providing the landlord carries out some maintenance work before the lease is signed. It’s anticipated that the works will take no longer than 5 weeks to complete, once completed B&M want to be into the store by October or November at the latest.
There has been much speculation in the town regarding who might be going in to the unit, with several retailers names mentioned, so it’s great to confirm it’s going to be a B&M, a store, we feel, will greatly improve visitor numbers to Stone Town Centre.
B&M, which was formed in 1978, is one of the leading retailers in the UK, selling a broad range of product categories and non-grocery products. They have over 560 stores and employ over 28,000 staff, they attract over 3 million customers through their doors a week.
