Walkers to put best foot forward for hospice

The beautiful Peak District awaits…

Katharine House Hospice has just opened the bookings for its ‘Edale Round’ walk in the Peaks and is calling on all keen walkers to take on this challenge.

On Sunday, September 23, they will be taking just one coach full of supporters to indulge in a spectacular 16 mile walk to raise valuable funds for the hospice. The aim is to raise £10,000 which will pay for 10 days of care for Day Therapy patients.

Katharine House Hospice’s Events Fundraiser, Lisa Carson, said:

“This is a brand new event for us and we’re really excited to be able to offer our supporters the chance to enjoy a truly stunning guided walk in the Peaks. It’s perfect for seasoned explorers who enjoy a walk in great company and also means that people can experience all the advantages of the route without needing to plan it or map read it themselves.”

A pause for breath at almost any point on this walk will give participants the opportunity to look around at some of the most awe-inspiring scenery in the area.

Registrations cost just £35 and include a goody bag, transport to and from Hope village, where the walk starts and ends, and your guided walk.

For people who love nothing better than a day’s walk in beautiful surroundings, this promises to be a great day out and a fabulous sponsored fundraising activity to do in memory of a loved one or just because you’d like to help Katharine House to care for local people with a life-limiting illness. With all walkers pledging to raise at least £150, the event will make a real difference.
