Met Office Issue Severe weather alert for Stone as Storm Bronagh arives from 6pm today

The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for strong winds as Storm Bronagh is expected to hit the county between 6pm this evening and 9am tomorrow.

Highways crews responded to over 15 call-outs to clear trees, branches and debris from roads yesterday.

Travel advice

People travelling on the roads across Staffordshire this evening and overnight are being warned about high winds and rain which could make driving conditions difficult.

Motorists are being advised to take extra care if out on the roads, drive to the conditions  and be aware there could be surface flooding, fallen branches or trees on the road.

Our highways teams will be ready to respond to any issues throughout the night and into the morning and we would ask people to bear with us if they do need to respond to incidents.

Drivers should avoid flooded parts of the road as they may be deeper than they appear.

Future forecast

We are expecting more strong wind and rain on Sunday through to the early hours of Monday and would advise people to check local forecasts on Saturday.
