The Chebsey Parish History Society has arranged several events as part of a remembrance programme to commemorate the World War One centenary.
The first event is on Monday, October 22, with an illustrated talk on Staffordshire soldiers and the Western Front 1914-1918 by local historian Steve Booth. It will take place in All Saints Church, Chebsey, starting at 6.30pm. Admission is free.
From Saturday, November 3, to Monday, November 12, there will be displays of local World War One and World War Two photographs, memorabilia and displays by local schools and community groups in All Saints Church, open each day from 9am to 4pm and admission is free.
On Saturday, November 10, there will be a showing of the feature film ‘War Horse’ in All Saints Church starting at 7pm. Admission is £7 for adults and £3.50 for under 16s. Tickets are available from Marg on 01785 760844.
Readers are welcome to take part in a general knowledge quiz evening at Woodseaves Village Hall on Saturday, October 27, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 each and refreshments are included in the price.
