Golf show to raise funds for Dougie Mac

Midlands first Golf Show to be hosted at Wychwood Hotel and Golf complex.

Midlands Golfer Magazine are delighted to host a Golf Show on October 14th to be held at Wychwood Hotel and Golf complex in Crewe. Conveniently located off junction 16 of the M6 this championship course plays a great backdrop for the Midlands first inaugural golf show. The Golf Show will showcase Midlands based golf clubs and hotels, golf related businesses and professional coaches.

Throughout the day, there will be a variety of stands and opportunities to win golf days, holidays, equipment and clothing as well as exclusive on the day discounts for visitors. The Golf Show also extends to use of the Wychwood Hotel and Golf complex driving range to allow all visitors and family members to test the various golf equipment on offer including gold plated golf clubs under the expert tuition of the PGA pros in attendance.

Mandy Ambert, Lady Editor at Midlands Golfer Magazine commented,

“We are really pleased with the response to our first Midlands Golf Show, we have some fantastic partners and we’d like to thank Gareth and Ben from England Golf for their support in making the event so successful. The Golf Show certainly has something for everyone, it is free to attend and we look forward to welcoming hundreds of guests to celebrate golf across the Midlands.

When choosing to organise this event, as a business we recognised the importance of using this fantastic opportunity to raise money for a local charity. The magazine has previously raised around £2,000 for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice through fundraising initiatives such as the Operation 18th challenge. We’re proud that donations from the event will continue to support the DougieMac”.

Suzi Smith, Head of Corporate Fundraising and Events added,

“Dougie Mac provides priceless care, free of charge to around 3,000 local people and their families each year. To do this, we are reliant on the support of local people and companies to help us fund our annual running costs of £12.5million. We’d like to thank Midlands Golfer Magazine for driving donations to the hospice by choosing DougieMac to benefit from this great event.

The support of Midlands Golfer Magazine and the local business community will ensure the hospice can keep delivering excellent care to people approaching end of life across North Staffordshire.”

Wychwood Hotel offers plenty of parking and there is the aptly named claret Jug lounge for food and drinks.

Admission to the event is free and any donations to the charity will be welcome.
