Over the last 12 months Katharine House Hospice has worked with almost 650 volunteers and all together these super-kind-and-thoughtful people have freely given an incredible 88,288 hours to help the hospice ensure that local people receive the care they need.
This year, Katharine House is determined to reach even more people who need their care, so they would love to hear from you if you have a little time to spare and would like to help.
They are particularly keen to find some volunteers to:
– assist with transport, bringing people to the hospice so they can benefit from the Day Therapy sessions (you could undertake the hospice’s free training to drive their small minibus or adapted vehicle)
– help them keep the kitchen ship shape by taking on a dishwashing session (lunchtime; any day)
– support the hospice shops which generate much needed funds to keep the care services going.
Katharine House gives the warmest of welcomes so if you think you could squeeze them into your weekly or monthly routine, they’d be delighted to see how volunteering could work for you. Other roles are available so no matter where your interests lie, or how limited your availability might be, if you would like to find out more…
Please call the hospice’s Voluntary Services Co-ordinator, Lynne, on 01785 254645 ext. 210 or, to help in a shop, please call in and speak to your local shop manager. The hospice would love to welcome you to their team of volunteers as everyone with a little time to spare can make an incredibly valuable contribution to helping the hospice to care.
Katharine House Hospice provides free care and support for adults and their families who are coping with progressive illness across mid-Staffordshire. It relies upon the kindness of the local community to help generate over 75% of the funds needed to run its vital range of services and to help it function.
