Lichfield Ladies travelled to top of the table Barnsley Ladies, a close game saw a final score of 21 – 15, but the Staffordshire side grabbing the loosing bonus point to hold on to 3rd place in the league.

There were no league matches for Cannock Lionesses, Handsworth Ladies or Wolverhampton Ladies this week.

Midlands NC Merit League.

There were no league matches for Burton Ladies or Longton Ladies this week.

Midlands Premier.

Burton travelled to Bridgnorth but a final score of 41 – 20 saw the Staffordshire side slipping to 2nd from bottom in the league. Lichfield were on the road to top of the table Scunthorpe, but came home empty handed after a 35 – 12 loss.

Midlands 1 West.

Longton travelled to Bromsgrove for a difficult afternoon of rugby which ended 82 – 5 propelling the hosts to the top of the table and pushing the visitors into the bottom spot. Stoke hosted Old Halesonians but couldn’t grab any points after a 16 – 32 loss.

Midlands 2 West (North).

Leek travelled to Camp Hill with a close game seeing the visiting team just losing 23 – 21. Newcastle hosted Veseyans with a strong performance earning a 43 – 10 victory. Stafford were away at Tamworth the hosts taking all of the points 33 – 17 to move into second place in the league. Walsall welcomed top of the table Ludlow, the Shropshire side taking all of the points with a 6 – 47 win. Wolverhampton battled hard to comprehensively beat a visiting Crewe & Nantwich 41 – 5.

Midlands 3 West (North).

Burntwood welcomed Cleobury Mortimer and took all the points with a 38 – 0 victory. Cannock travelled to Wednesbury with the hosts racking up an impressive 95 – 7 win. Eccleshall were on the road to Uttoxeter a close afternoon of rugby ending in a 10 – 10 draw. Handsworth were away at Shrewsbury but a 89 – 7 loss saw the Staffordshire team second from bottom in the league. Trentham hosted Edwardians but couldn’t take any points with a 21 – 41 loss.

Midlands 4 West (North).

Barton travelled to Aldridge but left empty handed with a 35 – 12 loss, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table. Bloxwich were away at Willenhall, but it was the hosts taking the points with a 65 -5 win. Linley took the trip to Market Drayton a 7 – 36 taking them to second

in the league. Rugeley hosted Clee Hill a comprehensive 43 – 12 victory enough to secure top spot in the league. There were no league games for Essington this week.

Staffordshire League Division 1.

St Leonards hosted Ashbourne 2nd XV taking maximum points with a strong 43 – 0 victory. The results for Gnosall or Whittington were not available at time of publication.

Staffordshire League Division 2.

Stone hosted second in league Burntwood 2nd XV, the home side delivering a comprehensive 41 – 14 victory.
