Funny business coming to Stone

A new monthly comedy night is being launched in Stone in a bid to prove that laughter is the best medicine

Granvilles Brasserie & Music Bar will be hosting its first ‘curry and comedy’ night on Tuesday November 27, with a stellar line-up including self-deprecating host Aaron Twitchen and Glee Club and Jongleurs regular Andy White.

White is an energetic, confident and silly Brummie who combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect. His numerous media appearances include the BBC New Comedy Awards, Brand Spanking New on BBC Radio 7 and his winning performance on the Weakest Link comedians’ special.

The night is hosted in partnership with Telford-based Teknicolour Smoof who have been running regular comedy nights throughout Shropshire since 2010.

Adam Jones, owner of Granvilles, said a regular comedy slot would be a welcome boost to the live        entertainment scene in the town.

He told the Gazette

“People should expect to see the same comedians in Stone that they would see at venues such as Birmingham’s Glee Club. They’re top rate.

“It’s something that will be good for the town. It’s great quality live entertainment once a month. Hopefully it will grow bigger and  better and we can get the comedians into the town that you regularly see on TV.”

Tickets cost just £15 per person including curry (advance booking only) or £5 on the door for entry only.
