Last chance to bag ‘early bird’ tickets to Wool@J13 – and a great woolly Xmas gift!

Wool@J13 organisers Ingrid Wagner & Val James are already getting into the festival spirit following the launch of early bird ticket sales for the event

The Midlands most vibrant wool & yarn festival has enjoyed an energetic start to ticket sales for its 18 & 19 May 2019 event, with over 200 ‘early bird’ tickets already having been snapped up.

With savings of up to £4.50 per ticket on gate prices until 14th December, now’s the time to make your purchase – either to treat yourself or as the perfect Christmas gift for wool crafting friends. And what better way to show you care than giving the gift of a visit to an event packed with festival fun – as well as the ‘shop till you drop’ marquee packed with artisan wool and yarn exhibitors, there’s a textile exhibition, larger-than-life rope making and a number of great workshops where visitors can hone their skills – including knitting knowhow from The Sockmatician; who will also be on hand signing & selling his book “Guys Knit”. Men’s knitting will be something of a theme for the show, tying in nicely with this year’s nominated charity for men’s testicular cancer awareness, Baggy Trousers UK.

New additions include a ‘have a go at’ challenge area, which will present Giant Jenga and the chance to “put me together again” on the weaving front, and there will also be the opportunity to adopt a (woolly) farm animal courtesy of the regional WI. The popular street food fayre will also be back, alongside the WI Tearoom, and visitors will be entertained musically throughout the weekend by ukulele-playing ex-punk rockers Not Quite Dead Yet.

The event will take place just 1 mile from J13 of the M6 – making it ideally placed for visitors travelling from far and wide. For those visiting as a family, Lower Drayton Farm’s friendly fun farm attraction can be accessed by ticketholders throughout the weekend; allowing younger visitors to meet the animals and let off steam on the adventure playground.

Early bird tickets are available online now, priced at £4.50 for day tickets (advance £5.50 / on gate £7.50) and £7.50 for weekend tickets (Advance £9.00 / on gate £12.00).  To book and discover more about the show, which will take place on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th May at Lower Drayton Farm near Penkridge in Staffordshire – handily just 1 mile from J13 of the M6 – head to www.wool-j13.uk
